Camden management in las vegas let family with small children move into building they knew had been infected with a very toxic mold.
The Las Vegas fire department had discovered a toxic mold in a Camden residents apartment two years earlier. After discovering that is was a very toxic mold they said the women had to move out immediately. She spent over 30 days in a hospital hooked up to ventilators to help her breath. She also suffered a heart attack.
A las Vegas couple and 2 small children were allowed to move into the apartment next door. One of the children only 2 months old at the time of move in started to develop symptoms similar to Epilepsy. He would have seizures lasting over an hour and on over 4 occasions he ended up in a ICU unit hooked up to a ventilator to help him breath. On 2 of the 4 occasions the 2 year old toddler almost didn't survive. Other members of the family are also suffering from the effects of toxic mold.
Mold Test for the apartment showed positive results for the following types of mold. 1. Penicillin, 2. Stachybotrys, 3. Cladosporium, 4. Aspergillus, and others.
Mold problems are not new to Camden Property Trust. From coast to coast Camden has done little or nothing to remedy mold problems in it's apartments. Here you will find links to stories across the country of how Camden Hires none certified contractors and leaves apartments filled with mold.
Family was left homeless for 1 week after being told apartment was killing there 2 year old. Everything the family owned was left in contaminated apartment. Camden is now trying to get the family to move back into the apartment after they claim it will be free of the mold in only 3 days of work removing it. How many children's life's will be ruined before camden finally has a remediation company come in and do it right. Will the city and health department let them get away with this a second time? For 2 years now the family has searched for a reason as to why there little boy was so sick. With answers finally here they are now left with phone calls to property owners and insurance reps being unanswered and told to leave a message. Medical bills outstanding over the 150k mark. Complete loss of all possessions and there Ford Explorer lost so they could pay the $1,200 a month cost of med's for their 2 year old.
Dr. Dorr Dearborn, of Rainbow Children's Hospital in Cleveland, who has studied pulmonary hemorrhaging in infants, said the mold is not only dangerous but deadly" The family also has An 8 month old baby girl who was born while living in this deadly mold infested apartment. And a 5 year old boy. The father of the 2 year old says he will do everything possible to make sure this building does not claim another victim.
A 15 year old girl that lived next door has developed heart problems that doctors say is caused by environmental effects. But they don't know what. She has had open heart surgery and the apartment she lived in is just next door to the 2 year old boy. We have an elderly woman, a 2 year old, and a 15 year old all who have almost died. All live next door to each other. And now systems of Multiple Sclerosis are emerging in an adult male who lived in this place for 3 years.
Update. 1/7/ 2007. 3 year old Logan seems to be getting a bit better. seizures have decreased in severity and frequency since the family moved from the infected apartment. Camden is still doing nothing. Seizure and respiratory problems still effecting his life there has been 2 more trips to the hospital in the past month. We are in desperate need of answers for our son. If anyone reading this has ideas or sugestions for logan please let us know. Camden has still not replaced a single item that was lost to the mold. Everything had to be left behind, cloths, furniture, toys, pictures, everything they have ever owned. |

| I know exactly how you feel!!! I lost everything to a toxic apartment I own. It's really unbelievable how many people are unaware of mold toxicity and and their symtoms. Even the medical community denies mold toxicity exists! |

That's because the medical and insurance industry have too much at stake to allow this ugly news out. If the public knew that (in some cases medication) in combination with the diet will stop the majority of mold problems. The pharmaceutical industry makes billions and billions off the symproms of mycotoxicosis. Why "cure" it when that would stop the buying of all those mold.
Cheers,
