My situation is a little different, maybe, than anything I have seen on here. Our a/c had a leak last summer - end of August/beginning of September - and we had to call our insurance company for help. They sent a company out to clean and remediate whatever needed to be done the first week of September.
After the work was done, I was still able to smell the mold and without going into too much detail, by the end of September, a couple of my kids had the "flu" and I found out I was pregnant (September 23, tbe) and by October 14 my husband had to take me to the ER. I thought I had the flu at first, coupled with morning sickness, but this was so much worse. I couldn't stop vomitting and the headaches, body aches and nausea were unbelieveable.
I was admitted and stayed in the hospital two more times after that, the doctors stating that I had hyperemesis and a couple of them noted that I had flu like or other symptoms.
I was on bedrest and pushed myself to stay active and working as much as possible with the fatigue, achiness, nausea, ect... getting worse by the day. I had to take medicine to keep me fro vomitting just so I could make it through the day.
Anyway, in November I finally paid attention to notice that my suspicions were right, the mold was in the same location, but seemed like more. I called my adjuster to let him know and requested a new company.
As ill as I was, I had a hard time focusing and moving around, however, by December 11, we found out there was a problem with our baby's heart and by the 18th at our appointment with a perinatal specialist, we saw he had passed. I was induced on the 21 and delivered him.
about a week or so later, I was finally able to allow the new company to come out to our home to observe the mold, they tested and saw reason to have my family move out of our home for two months while they removed everything, remediated and rebuilt the entire downstairs of our home.
I recently had a skin allergy test that didn't provide the HUGE welts we all thought would occur - and there is some other cukoo stuff that goes along with that - but I am frantic at this point to find out another way to prove that the mold made me and my family sick and caused our sons death.
I am not sure what to do and am desperate for help.

Your insurance companies contractor most likely DID NOT remediate the mold properly.

When mold affects insulation or porous surfaces it should be removed.

Insurance companies normally do the minim amount of work they can get away with...

Yes, the first company that worked on my home was very negligent and irresponsible. I called to complain and tried to get them to come back to my home and they wouldn't. I complained to my insurance company as well. During my illness my head wasn't exactly clear, but when I saw the mold had re-appeared (though I had been smelling it for quite a while and they told me that was normal) I called my insurance company and told them I wanted someone else.
That is the easy part, I have pictures and there is documentation of that.
As weird as it sounds, I was in the hospital and doctors so much during my illness, no one ever asked me if my house had mold and I never thought it was a factor in my illness. My efforts were geared toward getting myself better and taking care of the baby growing inside me.
The thing I am having a hard time right now with is proving that it was the mold - since no one tested me while the mold was in my house. Doctors took plenty of blood, but I guess that isn't what they were looking for.
I know the mold took my baby's life and has just about ruined mine - I just need help proving it.
Any help is welcome at this point. I am exhausted and can't function as I used to - it really sucks.
Yesterday was my due date and if I left my bed it was for the rest room and back. today isn't much better, but I'm on here, I guess. Tomorrow is my birthday and the day I was supposed to bring my baby home.
This sucks so bad!

Wow I'm sorry to hear that...

Look through some of the articles...
It does seem that some mold can cause miscarriage...

If you still have the blood maybe a doc that knows how to test for it can help, but it is hard to prove in court...

I have just come from the office of a coward masquerading as a doctor. As soon as I tell him what is going on, the exposure and how I have never had allergies or asthma in my life, he tells me I have Bronchitis asthma? Gave me an inhaler. This is also after I told him that I just went through testing with an allergist who initially said I have asthma and after five meds in almost five weeks and both skin and injection allergy tests in an hours time - he tells me I don't have asthma or allergies, yet I can't breathe and have this horrible cough, memory issues, dizziness, etc.....
Morons!!! You would think someone would link the six months of living in mold to my health problems - especially since we are healthy, vegetarian, holistic, never gets sick people and now all of a sudden we can't get right and have asthma? Is this the generic diagnosis that can cure all? What am I supposed to do with an inhaler?
