I am a 24 year old healthy male that was diagnosed with mold in my lungs just a little over a month ago, I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and misdiagnosed several times before they figured out it was mold. My right lung they is over half full or appears to be half infected according to the CT scan they took. I am now on the medication Sporanox to treat it, and will take the medication for at least a year. I have been noticing all sorts of lingering effects like short term memory loss, headaches, having trouble saying what I am actually thinking etc.. All of this started in about January of 2006, I had my wisdom teeth pulled while at home on break from college, which some doctors believe that this could have compromised my immune system causing me to pick up the mold. I returned to my off campus apartment (which was a disgrace when I moved in and they did nothing to it and did not listen to any of my or my roommates complaints) and within a week or two I started feeling extremely tired. I would get several, what I thought were colds, but now I know sinus drainage can be another symptom of mold exposure. While living there I had no motivation and would want to sleep 16 hours a day and it was an effort just to get out of bed, answer the phone, or go do anything. This is something I was not used to but I thought maybe it was because of having my teeth pulled but then this symptoms lasted for months but by May of 2006 I felt like I had been ran over by a semi truck. I was so extremely tired I did not ever want to get up, I developed night sweats, diahrea, temperatures that reached 102.7, red swollen eyes, flushed cheeks, severe chest pain when I would breathe, a dry cough which then eventually led to me coughing up blood, and joint and muscle pain. I was just wondering if someone could look at my pics I took of my apartment and let me know if they think this could possibly be where the mold came from because I am contemplating pursuing litigation. I have hired a mold specialist to go into my apartment and do forensic testing (which is not cheap) but I wanted some other opinions, because as of now they are stonewalling him and not letting him in so we have to obtain a court order/warrant.
Keep in mind these pics are from the day I moved in, this was all there before me.
Thank you so much for your time, Eric
Hopefully these come out big enoug otherwise you may not be able to see much.

Obviously I am not as technologically inclined as I thought I was. Can someone tell me how to get my pics to show in my post that I made and how I can get them to show the original size so you can see all the detail? This would be greatly appreciated and I think it would help those of you who reply to my post so that you could see the images better. Thanks Again

Here I got the pics to work

appears to be slimy mold around the trimwork

Under the kitchen sink that leaked

Black ring next to the trash bags

It looks like the ceiling is buckling from water damage

Mold specialist told me you could see mold colonies in the air conditioner itself

A mold specialist told me that could be bad red toxic mold of some sort, not sure though

I don't know what else to tell you but get yourself out of there asap. You cannot tolerate mold obviously. Yes the dental surgery could have compromised your immune system. But you sound like you might be allergic to those molds.

Do you feel better when you're not in that filthy apartment?

Yes these symptoms sound like the ones I experienced over the last few months I to had recent dental surgery for a root canal back in March I was constantly tired would lay in bed often all day since I work the overnight shift I would spend 10-12 hours in bed just get up in time for work I often seen little day light due to this. I lived in a small basement apart and mold was evident behind the bathroom toilet and on walls behind furniture and the back of my leather sofa had a green/white film over it on the carpet underneath I seen practically a mushroom when I moved it. I had right adnominal pain, hest pain, flashed skin, itching, coated tongue and developed streppocolcal infection, my eye always twiched and my bladder control got weaker. Its been a month since I moved and i starting to feel better now I hope nothing is long term. Just don't leave there it will reek havoc with your immune system

If you ask me, living in any basement is asking for trouble.

That said, sometimes, its impossible to move unless you have the money to.

Your number one priority should be getting clean, fresh air to breathe, even if that means putting up with cold or heat. (in other words, keep your windows open until the problems are fixed!)

You also should read the papers on Dr. Shoemaker's sites (chronicneurotoxins.com and moldwarriors.com ) and print the time series one out and go to a doctor and ask him/her of you can get cholestyramine.

Until you can do that take activated charcoal capsules to detox your bile..

Also, any and all water leaks under sinks, inside of walls, from roof, etc. need to be fixed.. The humidity needs to be low in a basement or there is condensation.

I would suggest buying a dehumidifier if you can afford it.. One that works even in the winter..
