My husband and I purchased our house 4 years ago. Over the 4 years, we have noticed mold in various area's of the house, and can tell there at one time had some major water damage. The living room, upstairs bathroom, my sons room all have stucco on the ceilings. We can now see mold seeping through that stucco, and seeping through on the walls.

Our health has gone completely downhill. We are in our 30's and our son is 3. Now, I have emphazima, my son has a chronic bronchial condition (not checked at a doctor), but has a constant cough, snuffly nose and just can't breath good. Whenever we leave the house, we feel better, much better! We come back home and start feeling sick again. Sore throat, coughing terribly, headaches, stuffed up, etc, etc.

With all this, over the past couple of days we started to think maybe it's a mold issue. My husband also removed and replaced some of our roof last fall. There were 5 layers of roofing, and it was all wet, moldy, stinky, and just plain gross!

We are having the air tested by a professional on Monday morning, but our concern is, should we leave now? I feel so awful sitting here right now, and this morning while I was gone, I felt terrific... My husband wants me to take our son and go visit family on the east coast until he can find out what is going on with the air in this house.

Any advice? Will we have any legal issues in Mi being that this was NOT disclosed when we purchased the house? Yet, it is obvious now that they did whatever they could to conceal the damage prior to our purchase?

I'm really concerned and feel like I have no idea what we are dealing with here...

Any advice is appreciated.

Kim

Yes, move out NOW.

Don't stay another day, do not take anything with you, not even a tooth brush.

Go to a motel, your parents house, live in the car, get a tent or trailer.

Get a mold mask and wear them, if must return to the home.

Mold can kill you and the effects can be permanent.

I wish I would have burned my house down when I first seen the mold.

Now that I got a expert to say there is mold I am stuck with the house with no one to sue, as it has been 13 years since I purchased my house.

I am so sick I need to live in a Bubble as even small amounts of mold send me to the emergency room.

The toxins build up in your body and destroy your immune system.

It will zap your engergy so all you can do is sleep. My ears ring constantly. It destroyed my joints cause heart problems ect, ect. ect.

Thanks... We are having our house completely tested today by specialists to see if it is in fact mold. We are in Redford, MI... If the tests come back with mold, I will definitely be interested in getting some info from you re: Lawyers and Doctors. Thanks for the info on that one doctor.

I have also had x-rays done on my lungs and wonder if they would have seen the mold if I have been exposed to it? Or would that not be something they would look for and would have to have more tests? They said emphazima, but know nothing else at this time, just that we are all getting worse.

I'll keep you updated. The thought is frightening!
