I have an unfinished basement, that has efflorescence on
the cinder block. I have received different advice from
mold companies and others as follows:

1. Leave it alone and let it take its coarse
2. scrub with a steel brush and paint on drylock
3. clean using a detergent like
vanatrol brick cleaner or 600 Detergent. Requires
spraying water in the basement.
4. Using an efflorescence cleaner such as Aldon efflorescence
treatment.
5. Clean it, but don't seal it. Sealing will cause
other issues.

All specific efflorescence cleaners must be purchased online.
None of my local building supply or mason stores carry them.

So...What is really the correct answer. I get so many
opinions and I'm getting confused. Starting to think that
number 1 is the correct answer.

Thanks
